Clarksville Providence High School
Fred Geswein coached for 22 years at Clarksville Providence High School with much success and then became the University of Louisville’s coach from 1981 to 1987. He founded the Fast Freddie’s Festival Five-Mile Foot Fest, which benefits Type 1 Diabetes Education and the Indiana Track and Field Museum. Geswein is perhaps even better known for having directed the Clarksville Summer Running Series for over 40 years.
Geswein’s officiating resume’ ranges from middle school to the World Indoor Championships and Olympic Trials. A USATF Master Level official, he started cross country title races in each NCAA Division, NAIA and USATF. He has announced meets at all levels.
Fred wrote a running column for 35 years and found time to run a 2:33 marathon.
