During Brittany’s track and field career, she was a seven-time state medalist, five-time regional champion, 12-time sectional champion and school record holder in six events. Brittany was the 2013 800 state champion during her senior year running a time of 2:07.91 to break the Indiana state meet record. She was also a part of the 2013 4x800 state champion relay team that ran 8:53.74, breaking the Indiana state meet record as well as becoming the first relay team in state history to break the 9:00 barrier. This performance was the top time in the nation in 2013 and the ninth-best time ever in U.S. high school history. Brittany split 2:07 on the 3rd leg before handing the baton off to twin sister Bethany. As a result of these performances, Brittany was named the 2013 Indiana Gatorade Track and Field Player of the Year.
She went on to compete at the Midwest Meet of Champions as well as the USATF Jr. Nationals. Brittany placed third in the 800 at the 2013 USATF Junior Nationals in Des Moines, Iowa, by running a time of 2:06.68, which made her at the time the fastest 800 runner in state history. This performance qualified her as a Team USA alternate for the 2013 Pan American Games in Medellin, Columbia. During her senior year, Brittany also ran 4:50.18 in the 1600 making her the sixth-fastest at that distance in Indiana history.
Brittany went on to compete collegiately at Indiana University and Indiana State University. She was the 2018 Missouri Valley Conference Outdoor Track and Field champion in the 800 and 1500. During her senior year, she ran a personal best of 2:05.30 in the 800 and she holds the second fastest times in Indiana State history in the 800 and 1500. Brittany earned her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Public Health from Indiana State University. She now resides in Nashville, Tennessee, with her fiancé where she works as a client success manager for a construction financial software company.
