• Won a USATF national title in the pole vault at the 2008 Outdoor Youth National Championships

• Three-time Indiana state pole vault champion (2007-08-09)
• Indiana state indoor record holder at 16-6.75 ft. and outdoor record holder at 17-00 ft
• Two-time conference, sectional and regional pole vault champion
• Holds the Summit Conference Meet pole vault record of 16-7.25 ft
• Holds the second highest indoor and outdoor jump nationally for sophomores
• Four-time all-area selection and named team MVP three consecutive years (2007-08-09)
• Named the News Sentinel Prep Sports Male Athlete of the Year in 2007 and 2009
• Named the 2009 Gatorade Indiana Track Athlete of the Year
• Received the Northrop High School Lifetime Achievement Award for Track and Field
• Earned all-state honors in 2008 and 2009 as a member of the 4x100 meter relay team
• 2008 and 2009 sectional champion

Attended Canterbury High School in Fort Wayne, Ind. for one year before transferring to Northrop High School for his sophomore, junior and senior years.
Attended Kansas University. Son of Bob and Amy Shank...Father, Bob, was two-time All-American pole-vaulter for the University of Illinois, where he also won a Big 10 championship
