
Sarah graduated from South Central (Elizabeth) High School as a two-time state qualifier in both track and cross country and a 16-time Southern Athletic Conference champion. She also captained her state runner-up basketball team while earning All-Conference and All-Sectional honors, plus the IHSAA Mental Attitude Award. She went on to attend Indiana University where she earned her B.A. in Human Biology (2011) and later her M.S. in Applied Sport Science (2018).
While at Indiana, she was a three-time All-American, Big Ten champion and school record holder in the 3000 meter steeplechase. In cross country, she was All Big Ten twice, All-Region three times and an NCAA qualifier. She went on to compete at 11 straight USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, including qualifying for four Olympic Trials (two in the steeplechase, two in the marathon). She had eight top ten finishes at USA Championships and represented Team USA at the Pan American Cross Country Championships after a fourth place finish at the USA Cross Country Championships. Her steeplechase personal best is 9:40.94, which is Indiana’s record.
After competing, she began coaching and is currently the head coach for track and field and cross country at Ohio University.
